ABOUT THE ROCKET SNARE

It's an understatement to say I love Dungeness crab. I love the adventure of going out after them even more. Catch and cook!

I make my own crabbing snares for myself, family, and friends.

It's definitely a unique snare — not like the traditional ones. Some people say it looks like a certain kind of toy. Smh. If you can get past that, I'll tell you what: this baby is built for real shore and pier crabbing.

I started on a pier in California over 12 years ago with a snare I bought on Amazon. I didn't know I needed a license. I didn't know there was a season. I didn't know you needed a crab gauge. Let's just say I was a little wet behind the ears. Luckily we only caught two little babies. What we did catch was the crabbing fever. We had a blast. I remember it like yesterday — the first time I pulled in my baby crab. I was so proud. We took selfies with them and threw them back.

Since then I've learned a lot, and that came with years of empty buckets and snares that didn't cut it. Gear that cast short. Gear that simply fell off. Loops that closed before they hit the water. Snares that never reached the water I needed. So I built the snare I actually needed, with the things that matter. Tough. Simple to load. And a cast made to fly.

It will make your mama say: Is it a bird? Is it a plane? no!— it's The Rocket Snare!

It took a lot of work. Many redesigns and upgrades. Countless hours printing and crabbing. In the end we developed The Rocket Snare and The Rocket Toss — two rocket-shaped aero snares built for shore and pier crabbing. Longer casts. A precisely designed weight and balanced for cleaner flight. When it hits the water, you get a fast, accurate drop toward the bottom. Every snare is built with care and attention to detail. With my aeronautics background and technical experience, we use 3D-print precision. That lets us redesign or upgrade anytime and move into production quickly. Go out to the beach, pier, or jetty. Test it. Come back to CAD. Make a change. A new upgrade is born. No factory line. No middleman markup. Gear made by a crabber, for crabbers, tested on the same beaches you fish.

I still get excited when the line gets heavy and keepers lock on.

Happy crabbing! And I hope to see you out there. Now Grab a V7 and get out there.
